Located on the northern waterway to Stockholm, Stäketfläcken has since the 17th century developed a rich tradition of crafts, brickyards and small industries. The proposal for housing, workshops and businesses, a marina and a public nature park along the canal, is inspired by this particular history. In a playful interpretation of “towers in park” – albeit on a scale befitting of the site – brick buildings are arranged in an alternately linear and scattered pattern, so as to enhance the green and blue natural elements, as well as to diversify the spatial experience along both land and water routes.
